Debbie Maxwell

Post Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh

Deborah is interested in storytelling in all its guises, from traditional oral
storytelling, to digital fictions and interactive storytelling. Storytelling and
Scottish culture played a key role in her doctoral work, 'Traditional
Storytelling in Digital World: the transformative power of Storytelling across
media', which explored the shape and form of storytelling as culture in the
ceilidh tradition.

Deborah is also interested in the ways in which storytelling
as a method and process can be used in both business and research contexts, and
recently led an interactive workshop, 'Harnessing the Power of Storytelling in
the Digital Economy' at The Third Annual Digital Economy All Hands Conference,
Aberdeen, 2012. Dr Deborah Maxwell is a post doctoral research fellow at
University of Edinburgh, working as part of Design in Action, a 4-year
AHRC-funded Knowledge Exchange Hub, and is a Co-Investigator on StoryStorm, a
network in the EPSRC Digital Economy funded 'Communities and Culture Network+.
